MISSION

SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT. it does not know what, or why, but it can feel something afoul. for it too is an abomination not meant for this world. but what the pokemon does not understand is the source of this ill feeling. a nauseousness that seeps from its arm and bleeds into its gangly torso.

a PSYCHIC blast launches from MEWTWO’s paw. a concussive blast strikes the DIANCIE manifested from the TERA CRYSTALS jutting out from the ground. the legendary pokemon starts to fade, depriving the MEWTWO of its prey.

its tail swishes in wonder, and more importantly, annoyance.

It is only a matter of time before the Unown sense this creature: the amalgamation of humanity's hubris, sinister in its insistence to exist.[break][break]
They are called to the vibrations of psychic energy, already attuned to the rhythm of possibility that pulses outwards from the intricate network of Tera crystals deep within the earth. One unfamiliar with the transgressions of its creation might rightfully assume the monstrosity to be some new form of paradox, but the Unown know better.[break][break]
They call out to the Visionary in the language of opportunity.[break][break]
She appears out of thin air, casually stepping through a tear in reality as if interdimensional travel is nothing more than a mild inconvenience. Crystals blossom around the temporary portal, haloing the young woman in an ethereal blue light: the exact same color as her close-cropped hair. All around her, Unown make themselves visible, a hoard of white eyeballs staring intently at the anomaly.[break][break]
She must tread carefully, for this is uncharted territory - and surely, dangerous ground.[break][break]
"Hello," she greets the Pokemon called Mewtwo. "Apologies for the interruption, but I was hoping that we could speak."

MEWTWO SAYS NOTHING. it is unfazed by her entrance, much less her acknowledgement. or, perhaps, uninterested would be a better descriptor. for it pays her no mind. not when there are so many UNOWN rampant and about.

the symbol of its MIRACLE EYE glows from its forehead. its actual eyes, heterochromia or orange and purple, flicker with constant movement. tracking the very eyeballs that stare back.

Mewtwo does not answer; does not even acknowledge Nomi. It stares, instead, at the collection of Unown swirling around it: the curious and the curiosity.[break][break]
Only Kallistatus hangs back, staying close to Nomi, as if sensing a trap. She takes a tentative step towards the enigmatic creature, pulling from the deep well of resolve that fuels her prophetic vision, fearful not of death but of failure. The region continues to suffer with every passing second.[break][break]
"The Unown call me The Visionary," she explains. "We need your help, if you are willing."[break][break]
The symbol on Mewtwo's forehead glows, drawing Nomi's gaze to it in hypnotic fashion. The Unown hum to the rhythm of inquiry.

the pokemon’s constant watch is almost feline, as if any sign of movement must be tracked with feral intensity. the behavior is instinctual, empowered by the introduction of constant stimuli.

a mild PSYCHIC wave pulses from the pokemon’s forehead, enveloping itself in a translucent BARRIER.

only then does its gaze settle on kallistatus, a mirror of noami’s own stare.

Kallistatus gazes back. A tapestry of centuries unfolds between these psychic titans, the modern marvel of humanity's folly interfacing with, perhaps, one of the oldest beings in existence. It's a weighty silence, a poignant pause. A barely-perceptible barrier ripples around the Mewtwo, and Kallistatus follows suit: the slow and steady generation of HIDDEN POWER brightening shades of blue.[break][break]
All around the cavern, the rest of the Collective bob and sway, each letter eager to observe some new deviation. This is not a path any of them expected her to take. This creature has no precedence in the multi-colored history of this universe.[break][break]
Nomi holds out her hands, palms facing up. It is a gesture of supplication, a prayer before the altar of hope.[break][break]
"Is there anything I can offer you, in return for your help?"

THE POKEMON EXTENDS A PAW in response. an AURA SPHERE manifests, contorting into the shape of an UNOWN. like DITTO putty, it contorts when pried by an invisible force, remolded into different variants, before extending to some of the odd pokemon found in AREA ZERO.

we seek–

–all pokemon.

the attack dissipates in place but the pokemon’s paw now points at KALLISTATUS, each digit evenly apart.

Akin to the constant pixelation of the RKS Machine in the midst of a changing scenario, the Mewtwo's conjured replication distorts, becoming familiar and unfamiliar shapes. It is as if some unseen force is attempting to pry it apart, but cannot succeed due to the inherent elasticity of its form.[break][break]
And then, to her shock, it speaks.[break][break]
A voice inside her mind: a psychic connection that sounds all too eerily human in its attempt to communicate.[break][break]
"You seek all Pokemon?" Nomi repeats, still too stunned to make sense of the statement. But then she follows the Mewtwo's outstretched paw, the invisible thread between it and Kallistatus...and a sudden intuition rises out of the depths of her skewed understanding of the situation: a scientific breakthrough.[break][break]
"You've never met an Unown before, have you."[break][break]
It's not a question; more of an observation. The group of Unown swirl around her, then drift towards the Mewtwo. An Unown-A alights by its right shoulder, an Unown-C by its left, an Unown-B directly in front of its face. Kallistatus lingers by Nomi, though no less willing to satisfy the Mewtwo's curiosity.
